How Much Does Pest Control Cost in Greenville, SC?

A Mack technician going over a service plan on a clipboard with a homeowner couple outside their house

For a standard Greenville home, Mack’s year-round pest control plans cost $40, $60, $90 or $125 a month. The price depends on what you need covered: everyday household pests, termites, yard pests like mosquitoes and ticks, or all of it. Every plan is a recurring service with no long-term contract, and every plan carries the same guarantee: if pests come back between visits, we come back and re-treat free.

Below is what each plan includes, what moves the price up or down, and the questions worth asking any pest control company before you pick one.

What each plan costs and covers

All four plans include the core service most Greenville homes need. The higher tiers add termites and yard pests.

Which plan fits a Greenville home

Greenville’s warm, humid summers and mild winters keep pests active most of the year, which is why year-round service makes more sense here than a single spray in spring. Which tier makes sense depends on the house and the yard.

  • You mostly want ants, roaches, spiders and mice handled. Essential covers it. That includes the crawl space, which matters in older neighborhoods like North Main, Augusta Road and Overbrook, where crawl spaces give roaches, spiders and rodents a place to settle.
  • Termites are on your mind. Greenville’s termites are eastern subterranean termites. They live in the soil, travel through the red Piedmont clay to the foundation and build mud tubes up to the wood. Many homeowners don’t notice anything until a spring swarm. Enhanced adds a yearly termite inspection. Ultimate adds termite protection with a re-treatment bond.
  • The yard is the problem. If mosquitoes, fleas or ticks keep you off the patio, Premium or Ultimate adds yard treatment. Homes near the Reedy or Enoree rivers, lakes, wooded lots or drainage areas tend to feel mosquitoes most.
  • You’re in a newer subdivision. Growth around Simpsonville, Mauldin and Greer keeps clearing land, which pushes rodents and fire ants into new neighborhoods. Every plan includes rodent prevention and fire ant treatment near the home.

What changes the price

  • Home size and type. The prices above are for standard residential properties. Larger or unusual homes may be quoted differently.
  • What you want covered. Termite protection and yard pests are the two things that move a home from one tier to the next.
  • Problems that need their own treatment. Some pests aren’t part of the plans. Honeybees and carpenter bees aren’t covered: honeybees are pollinators we’d rather see relocated than killed, and carpenter bees are wood-destroying insects that need their own treatment. Bed bugs aren’t in the package line items either. For any of these, call for a free estimate.
  • Businesses. The plans are for homes. Restaurants, apartment communities, offices and other commercial properties are quoted per site. See our commercial solutions.

Recurring plan or one-time treatment?

A one-time treatment deals with the pests you have today. A recurring plan is built to keep them from coming back, which is why the guarantee only makes sense on a plan. If pests show up between scheduled visits, we come back out and re-treat at no cost. In a climate like Greenville’s, where something is always in season (termites and ants in spring, mosquitoes and wasps in summer, rodents moving indoors in fall), most homeowners end up paying for repeat visits one way or the other. A plan prices that up front.

Questions to ask any pest control company

Whoever you choose, these questions will tell you what you’re actually paying for:

  1. Is there a long-term contract, and what does it cost to cancel? Mack’s plans are recurring service, not contracts. You can change or cancel by calling.
  2. What happens if pests come back between visits? Look for a free re-treatment guarantee, not a new service call fee.
  3. Is the crawl space included? In Greenville, it’s where a lot of pest problems start.
  4. Are termites covered, and how? An inspection and a protection bond are different things. Ask which one you’re getting.
  5. Where do fire ant and wasp treatments stop? Coverage usually has a distance limit. Ours is 15 feet from the home for fire ants, and 10 feet from the home and up to 20 feet up for stinging insects.
  6. Are the products EPA-registered and applied by licensed technicians? Ours are, and your technician will tell you when it’s okay for kids and pets to go back on treated areas.
