Adult fleas on your pet are only a small part of the problem. Most of the population is eggs, larvae and pupae in your carpet, furniture, pet bedding and yard, waiting to become the next round of biting fleas. That's why flea problems come back after a flea bath or a store-bought spray.
Our treatment targets every stage. Inside, we treat carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture and the places your pets sleep with products that kill adult fleas and larvae and break the life cycle. Outside, we treat the shady, protected areas where fleas wait for a host: under decks and porches, along fences, in pet runs and around crawl space openings.
Flea pupae are protected by a cocoon and can survive treatment, so new fleas may keep emerging for a couple of weeks. Vacuuming every day draws them out to the treatment, and our follow-up visit catches what's left. Treat your pets with a vet-recommended flea product at the same time, and the cycle ends.

How to prepare for flea treatment

Vacuum everything
Carpets, rugs, furniture and under cushions. Throw the bag or contents away outside.

Wash pet bedding
Wash pet beds, throw blankets and anything pets sleep on in hot water.

Clear the floors
Pick up toys, shoes and clothes so we can reach the whole surface.

Protect small pets
Cover fish tanks and turn off their air pumps, and take birds and other small pets out of the home.

Treat your pets
Use a vet-recommended flea product the same day. Fleas on untreated pets will reinfest the home.

Mow and unlock
Mow the lawn a day or two before, and unlock the gates so we can reach the yard.

Wait until it's dry
Keep people and pets off treated floors until they've dried. Your technician will tell you how long.

Keep vacuuming
Vacuum every day for a couple of weeks after treatment. It brings fleas out of their cocoons to contact the treatment.

Flea treatment questions
Why am I still seeing fleas after treatment?
That's normal for a couple of weeks. Flea pupae are protected inside cocoons and survive treatment, then contact it as they hatch. Daily vacuuming speeds this up. If you're still seeing a lot of fleas after two or three weeks, call us.
Do you treat my pets for fleas?
No. We treat your home and yard, and your veterinarian treats your pets. Both need to happen at the same time: fleas on an untreated pet will reinfest a treated home, and a treated pet keeps picking up fleas in an untreated one.
How quickly can you get rid of fleas?
Most homes see a big drop after the first treatment, but breaking the full life cycle takes a few weeks as the remaining pupae hatch. The follow-up visit and daily vacuuming finish the job.
Do I need to leave my house during treatment?
Yes, for a short time. People and pets need to stay out of treated rooms until the treatment has dried, usually a few hours. Your technician will tell you exactly how long.
Are your flea treatments safe for pets and children?
Our products are EPA-registered and applied by licensed technicians according to the label. Keep people and pets off treated areas until they've dried, and your technician will tell you when it's safe to come back in.
Is flea control included in your pest control plans?
Exterior flea treatment is included in our Premium and Ultimate plans, along with exterior tick and mosquito treatment. For fleas already inside the home, call us for an indoor treatment.
Where do fleas come from if my pet doesn't go outside?
Fleas can ride in on people's clothes or other pets, or come from wildlife like raccoons, opossums and stray cats living under decks, porches and crawl spaces. Fleas left behind by a previous owner's pets can also wait for months in an empty home.
