Signs you need bed bug treatment
Bed bugs hide during the day and feed at night, so the clues usually show up before the bugs do.
-
Bites when you wake up
Itchy red bites in a line or cluster, often on the arms, neck and shoulders. Not everyone reacts, so one person can be bitten while another isn't.
-
Spots on the sheets
Small rust-colored or dark spots on sheets, pillowcases and mattress seams. These are blood stains and droppings.
-
Shed skins and eggs
Pale, empty skins left behind as bed bugs grow, and tiny white eggs tucked into seams, cracks and the corners of the box spring.
-
Live bugs
Flat, reddish-brown bugs about the size of an apple seed, in mattress seams, headboards, furniture joints and along baseboards.
What's included in our bed bug treatment
Getting rid of bed bugs takes a methodical approach. Here's what you get.
-
A thorough inspection
We confirm it's bed bugs, not another biter, and find every room and piece of furniture they've reached.
-
Every affected room treated
Mattresses, box springs, bed frames, headboards, furniture, baseboards and the cracks nearby. Treating one room while bugs hide in the next is how infestations come back.
-
A prep checklist
Clear instructions for getting your home ready, so the treatment reaches everywhere bed bugs hide.
-
Follow-up visits
Bed bug eggs can survive the first treatment. We come back to treat the bugs that hatch afterward and confirm they're gone.
-
Discreet service
Nobody wants the neighbors to know. We handle every bed bug job quietly and professionally.
-
Fast scheduling
Same-day or next-day service is often available, because nobody wants to spend another night with bed bugs.
Our bed-bug-crushing team
Since 1983, Mack Pest Solutions has protected homes and businesses from bed bugs.
How our bed bug treatment works
Bed bugs are hard to get rid of because they hide where sprays can't reach: mattress seams, the joints of furniture, behind headboards, inside outlets and along baseboards. A female can lay hundreds of eggs in her lifetime, and store-bought foggers and sprays usually just scatter the bugs into new rooms.
We start by confirming the infestation and mapping how far it has spread. Then we treat every affected room, working through beds, furniture and the cracks and crevices where bed bugs hide. Eggs are the hard part, since some can survive a treatment, so we come back for follow-up visits to treat newly hatched bed bugs and check that the infestation is gone.
We treat homes, apartments, hotels, dorms and other businesses, and every job is handled discreetly.

What to expect from bed bug treatment
Inspection, treatment, then follow-up until they're gone.
- Step 1
Inspection
We check beds, furniture and the rooms around them to confirm bed bugs and see how far they've spread, then give you a prep checklist.
- Step 2
Treatment
We treat every affected room, including mattresses, box springs, frames, furniture, baseboards and the cracks and crevices nearby.
- Step 3
Follow-up visits
We come back to treat any bed bugs that hatch after the first visit and confirm the infestation is gone.
How to prepare for bed bug treatment
-
Wash and dry hot
Wash bedding and clothes from affected rooms on the hottest setting the fabric allows, dry on high heat for at least 30 minutes, then keep them in sealed plastic bags.
-
Clear the clutter
Clear floors, under beds and closets so we can reach baseboards and furniture.
-
Vacuum everything
Floors, mattresses and furniture. Seal the vacuum bag in plastic and throw it away outside.
-
Don't move things around
Moving furniture, clothes or belongings to other rooms or homes is how bed bugs spread.
-
Don't toss the mattress
Most mattresses can be treated. Only throw one out if your technician says to.
-
Keep sleeping in your bed
Moving to the couch can spread bed bugs to a new room.

Bed bug treatment questions
How quickly can you treat my home after I call?
We can often inspect the same day or the next day. Call 864-235-9611 and we'll get you on the schedule as quickly as we can.
How many treatments does it take to get rid of bed bugs?
More than one visit, in most cases. Bed bug eggs can survive the first treatment, so we come back for follow-up visits to treat newly hatched bugs and confirm they're gone. The number depends on how big the infestation is and how much of the home it has reached.
Do I need to leave my home during treatment?
You'll need to stay out of the treated rooms while we work and until the treatment has dried, usually a few hours. Your technician will tell you exactly how long, and when pets can come back.
Can I sleep in my bed after treatment?
Yes, once the treatment has dried and your technician says it's fine. Keep sleeping in your own bed rather than moving to the couch or another room. Bed bugs follow people, and moving spreads them to new places.
Do I need to throw away my mattress?
Usually not. Most mattresses and box springs can be treated. Carrying infested furniture out can spread bed bugs through the house on the way, and new furniture gets reinfested if the rest of the home isn't treated.
How did I get bed bugs?
Bed bugs hitchhike in luggage, clothing, used furniture and visitors' bags, and they move between units in apartments and other shared buildings. Getting them has nothing to do with how clean your home is.
Are bed bug treatments safe for children and pets?
Our products are EPA-registered and applied by licensed technicians according to the label. People and pets stay out of treated rooms until the treatment has dried, and your technician will tell you when it's okay to go back.
Do you guarantee your bed bug treatment?
Yes. Follow-up visits are part of every bed bug treatment, and if bed bugs are still active, we come back at no extra charge.
Do you treat bed bugs in apartments and hotels?
Yes. We treat apartments, hotels, short-term rentals, dorms and other commercial properties. See our multi-family and hospitality solutions.
