Our stink-bug-crushing team
Since 1983, Mack Pest Solutions has protected homes and businesses from stink bugs.
How our stink bug treatment works
Brown marmorated stink bugs spend the summer outside feeding on plants, then look for somewhere warm to spend the winter. In late summer and fall they gather on the sunny sides of buildings and squeeze in through gaps around windows, doors, siding, soffits, vents and utility lines. Once they're inside the walls and attic, they stay put until warm days wake them up and send them wandering into your living space.
That makes prevention the most effective treatment. We treat the outside of your home as they start gathering, so stink bugs landing on the walls are killed before they find a way in, and we show you which gaps to seal.
Stink bugs already inside the walls are much harder to reach, and spraying indoors doesn't do much. The best way to deal with those is to vacuum them up and empty the vacuum outside. With exterior treatment and sealing, fewer make it in each year.

Stink bug control questions
Can an exterminator get rid of stink bugs?
Yes, with the right timing. Exterior treatment in late summer and fall kills stink bugs before they get in, and sealing gaps keeps them out. Bugs already inside the walls are harder to reach, so the goal is to stop them at the outside, then vacuum up any that wander out.
When is the best time to treat for stink bugs?
Late summer and early fall, before they move inside for the winter. Once they're in the walls, an exterior treatment can't reach them until they come back out in spring.
Are stink bugs harmful?
Not to people or pets. They don't bite, sting, spread disease or damage your home. The problem is the numbers that move in and the smell they give off when disturbed or crushed.
Why do I see stink bugs inside in the winter?
Stink bugs spend the winter inside walls and attics. Warm days, and the heat from your house, wake some of them up, and they wander toward the light and warmth of your living space.
How do I get rid of stink bugs in my house?
Vacuum them up and empty the vacuum outside, or knock them into a container of soapy water. Don't squash them, which releases the smell. To stop more coming in, seal gaps and treat the outside of the home next fall.
Do you offer preventive treatment for stink bugs?
Yes. Our year-round plans include regular exterior treatments, and we can time your visit for when stink bugs start gathering in the fall.
Is your treatment safe for pets and children?
Our products are EPA-registered and applied by licensed technicians according to the label. Keep kids and pets off treated areas until they've dried, and your technician will tell you when it's okay to go back.
